PRESSURE REDUCING VALVES

ADJUSTMENT

Adjustment Pressure Reducing Valves always be set under "no flow", i.e.when all down-stream taps or flow closed. The pressure guage thus should show a static pressure.

To increase outlet pressure : -Tighten adjusting screw (clockwise)

To decrease outlet pressure : -Slaken the adjusting screw (anticlockwise) -Release pressure by briefly opening a tap on outlet side.Close taps. -Then retighten adjusting screw to obtain required pressure.
A slight pressure drop on the downstream side is normal.

This is the head loss of the pressure reducing valve.

ADJUSTMENT RANGE

IMPORTANT : When the required reduction is too large (outside the range of the charts ex.20 bar down to 1 bar) correct results can be obtained by fitting two Hawk pressure reducing valves in sereis. Normal operating zone Zone operated with a balancing spring. The 4" & 6" valve has no balancing spring
